Located in the heart of the Beaches of Jacksonville in Neptune Beach, Florida, Yoga Mix offers a fresh vibe with our unique blend of styles and highly trained staff. We opened our doors in the fall of 2011 and have proudly served our community for the last 7 years. With over 50+ classes per week and 10+ styles to choose from, there is truly something for everyone.
We have TWO studios under one roof! Our Sun Studio offers a warm atmosphere and the inspirational, fun music allows for the entire experience to come together. This is where our heated classes are held including Power, Yoga Shred, Mixed Level, Core Fusion and more! Our Moon Studio is a calm and cool oasis. This is where our therapeutic offerings are held including Gentle, Restorative and One on One Private Sessions. At Yoga Mix our teachers are encouraged to teach from their heart which translates to an authentic practice for each and every class.
Yoga Mix believes strongly in the power of being in tune to our own bodies and will always offer permission language to listen to what your body is saying. Students will be encouraged to modify, rest and hydrate if that is what your body is calling for or to go for your fullest expression if your practice is ready. Allowing for a judgement free space to practice and working toward a balance between ease and effort is what Yoga Mix will bring to you. Both of our studio spaces are candle lit and we do not have mirrors. We want to encourage you to release external distraction and take advantage of this sacred time to go inward.
There is always something going on at the MIX and we offer monthly workshops. Check out our workshops/events page to catch the lastest happenings. We proudly host special events including, LIVE Music & donation based classes as well as visits from Master Teachers & musicians such as Krishna Das, Bryan Kest, Eric Paskel, Tiffany Cruikshank, Bri Smyth & Dice lida-Klein. Check back frequently to stay up on all of the lastest happenings!
Yoga Mix is proud to be voted #1 in the 904 SIX years running and BEST IN JAX 2015
Yoga Mix Tips and Trips: Studio Etiquette
What style of yoga can I expect to practice?
We will practice a MIX of styles. We offer over 50 classes a week with 10+ varities. See our schedule tab to explore all of our different and unique offerings.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable attire suitable for working out. Shoes are not worn in the yoga room.
What should I bring?
Please bring a water bottle, hand towel, beach towel, & a yoga mat (If you need to rent a yoga mat or towel, they are available at the studio).
We are located in this sweetest little beach town and bikes and walking are always welcome! We have an awesome bike rack. If you are driving, please park along the grass on the Southside of the complex & 3rd St when available with overflow parking in front of our building. We always want to be mindful and kind to our neighboring businesses and park on the grass and 3rd street during business hours when all possible.
If I reserve a class via the Yoga Mix APP or online, do you guarentee my spot?
We highly recommend using our APP to reserve space. You must however arrive at least 5 minutes prior to class start time. We will give the spot away to anyone waiting once it is 5 minutes before class.
What time will the studio open prior to scheduled classes?
The studio will be open 30 minutes prior to scheduled class time.
Silence Your Cell Phone:
Make a habit of doing this as soon as you get to the studio and if possible please leave your phone in the lobby cubbies. Take this time to disconnect!
What time should I arrive if I am a brand NEW student?
All new students to Yoga Mix should arrive 20 minutes prior to class start time. This will allow enough time for us to make sure you are in our system, show you around and introduce you to the teacher. Be sure to DOWNLOAD OUR APP and register ahead of time. This will save time when you arrive.
Can I come in late once a class has started?
Get to the yoga studio early: leave plenty of time to park, change if needed, use the restroom and check in.
All classes begin and end on time. Once class has begun, you will not be able to enter the yoga room.
Can I leave early prior to savasana?
Don't Skip Savasana! Please try not to leave class early. If you must, tell the teacher in advance and take a short savasana before you go. Don't make a habit of this. Savasana is the most important pose in the yoga practice and it is DELISH! You deserve every moment! If you are new to the yoga practice and wondering what the heck savasana is: it is the final resting pose at the very end of class. It will quickly become your favorite pose!
What if I am new to yoga?
Welcome! Yoga Mix highly recommends you start with one of our Gentle or Slow Flow Classes.
How do I know if there have been changes to the schedule?
The "schedule" tab will always show the latest class days & times.
What ages are appropriate for classes?
Students ages 13 & up may practice regularly scheduled classes with signed waiver from parent or guardian. We offer kids yoga during the school year.
Stay hydrated before & after practice:
Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day. Don’t rush to catch up and drink a gallon right before your class; this will make you feel bloated and it will be harder for you to do the postures in depth. We suggest not eating one hour prior to practicing
Diversify your yoga experiences:
Yoga is first and foremost your practice. So make sure you experience a few different types of classes, teachers and styles in order to find the one or two that fit you best. Sometimes complimenting practices can be the perfect match for what you need. For example, if you want to work on your flexibility, a hot room can be a good place to do that and if you feel stressed, a restorative class maybe the perfect complimentary practice. Sampling is important, just like anything else and at the MIX we have every flavor!
Will music be used during class?
YES! At Yoga Mix music is a big part of our flow. Mixing breath, postures, music & connecting together is what we love!
