**+ What if I'm new to yoga? **
We've got you covered! Visit our New Students page for a special offer and more on what to expect from Yoga Mix.
**+ What should I wear & WHAT SHOULD I BRING? **
Wear comfortable attire suitable for working out. Shoes are not worn in the yoga room. Please bring a water bottle, hand towel, mat towel, & a yoga mat. All are available for purchase at the studio as well.
**+ DO I GET TO PRACTICE FOR FREE? **
We strongly believe in the dignity of work. We will never ask our team to donate their time or expertise unless for charitable events. While we do not offer free classes, we have created numerous programs with financial & practice frequency in mind. Visit our New Students page for a special offer.
**+ Parking? **
We are located in the sweetest little beach town and bikes and walking are always welcome! We have an awesome bike rack. If you are driving, please park along the grass on the Southside of the complex & 3rd St when available with overflow parking in front of our building. We always want to be mindful and kind to our neighboring businesses and park on the grass and 3rd street during business hours when all possible.
+ Is pre-registration required?
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. It is the only way to guarantee your spot in class. We highly recommend using our APP to reserve space. We have a strict cancellation/no-show policy. If you do not cancel your class at least 3 hours before class starts, there is a $15 late cancel fee. If you do not attend a class you reserved a spot for, there is a $25 fee. Classes begin on time; once a class has started, the doors are shut, and we do not allow anyone else to enter. Be sure to arrive on time.
**+ Where can I find out more about your cancellation or “no show” policy **
Please see our cancellation policy.
**+ What time will the studio open prior to scheduled classes? **
The studio will be open 15 minutes prior to scheduled class time.
**+ Silence Your Cell Phone: **
Make a habit of doing this as soon as you get to the studio and if possible please leave your phone in the lobby cubbies. Take this time to disconnect!
**+ What time should I arrive if I am a brand NEW student? **
All new students must arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time. Give yourself plenty of time to find the studio, park and make sure you are changed and ready to roll. You must have already pre registered and pre purchased so upon arrival we can check you in, show you around and you will be all set. Be sure to DOWNLOAD and use OUR APP to book your classes.
**+ Can I come in late once a class has started? **
No. Please get to the yoga studio 15 minutes early: leave plenty of time to park, change if needed, use the restroom and check in.
All classes begin and end on time. Once class has started, you will not be able to enter the yoga room.
**+ Can I leave early prior to savasana? **
Don't Skip Savasana! Please try not to leave class early. If you must, tell the teacher in advance and take a short savasana before you go. Don't make a habit of this. Savasana is the most important pose in the yoga practice and it is DELISH! You deserve every moment! If you are new to the yoga practice and wondering what the heck savasana is: it is the final resting pose at the very end of class. It will quickly become your favorite pose!
**+ What if I am brand new to yoga? **
Welcome! Yoga Mix highly recommends you start with one of our Gentle or Slow Flow Classes.
**+ How do I know if there have been changes to the schedule? **
The "schedule" tab will always show the latest class days & times.
**+ What ages are appropriate for classes? **
Students ages 13 & up may practice regularly scheduled classes with signed waiver from parent or guardian.
**+ Stay hydrated before & after practice: **
Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day. Don’t rush to catch up and drink a gallon right before your class; this will make you feel bloated and it will be harder for you to do the postures in depth. We suggest not eating one hour prior to practicing
**+ Diversify your yoga experiences: **
Yoga is first and foremost your practice. So make sure you experience a few different types of classes, teachers and styles in order to find what fits you best. Sometimes complimenting practices can be the perfect match for what you need. For example, if you want to work on your flexibility, a hot room can be a good place to do that and if you feel stressed, a restorative class maybe the perfect complimentary practice. Sampling is important, just like anything else and at the MIX we have every flavor!
**+ Will music be used during class? **
YES! At Yoga Mix music is a big part of our flow. Mixing breath, postures, music & connecting together is what we love!
**+ Can I practice yoga if I am pregnant? **
If you have a regular hot yoga practice and become pregnant, with your doctor’s consent and your intuition aligned, you are most welcome to continue your practice. We do not recommend starting a hot yoga practice for the first time during pregnancy. A non-heated class can range from 74-80 degrees. A heated class uses state-of-the-art infrared radiant heaters to warm your body and make the room feel 90-99 degrees. All people can take a heated class. Pregnant students are welcome to take any class, but please consult with your doctor, do your research on core body temperature during pregnancy, and listen to what feels best for your body and peace of mind. Keep in mind we also have non-heated, gentle classes as well as customized private yoga offerings.
